The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced it is awarding $197 million for 41 locally led conservation projects through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). RCPP is a partner-driven program that leverages partner resources to advance innovative projects that address climate change, enhance water quality, and address other critical challenges on agricultural land.

LICA participated in an industry stakeholder call this week with NRCS Chief Matt Lohr and his deputies. The Chief provided an update on USDA activities concerning COVID 19 and the impact on operations and staffing. He also provided program updates on Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), CART and Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) assistance from NRCS. Stakeholders asked questions mainly on the public announcement of grants and awards.
