The LICA family was reunited again in Niagara Falls, New York. This past July everyone met for the 2021 National Summer Meeting, hosted by the New York LICA Chapter. Members all greeted each other with big smiles, happy to be together again.
New York LICA pulled out all the stops and had two days of tours for attendees. Not only were the tours fantastic, but the mood in the air was pure excitement. Members were elated to visit with their friends and the chatter on the tour bus never stopped.
National LICA put together a full day of Educational Seminars, including an exciting new benefit, coming later this month. Our Associates showed their full support and presented their individual topics while members listened intently.
When members arrived at Associates’ Night, they received the “red-carpet treatment” (literally),and were welcomed by the Phantom of the Opera, C.E.O. Jerry Bisuo. Music played over the speakers as the LICA family entered, in costume. The Broadway theme brought: Captain Hook, Sandy and Danny from Grease, Mary Poppins, Annie, Cruella and even Beauty and the Beast. Our Associates showed nothing but support and came out in full force that evening. After such a long break with many twists and turns, they exhibited and networked with LICA members, without missing a beat.

With the excitement of Associates’ Night still flowing, members had no problem getting down to business. All the committees were packed and the dialogue in each meeting never slowed down. Being able to exchange ideas, in-person again, brought a new energy to each committee.

Our week in Niagara Falls wasn’t really that different than in past years; we had the tours, seminars, and meetings as always. But it was the feeling and true elation that reverberated through members that week made it special. The LICA family is just that: a family. It was clear everyone missed being together and won’t take it for granted ever.
