National LICA staff members Caroline Krug and Allison Hack recently attended the Ohio LICA Winter Convention, held at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio. The convention offered eight (8) continuing education (CE) hours as part of registration, with the hours approved by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).
Allison Hack presented on the LICA Safety Portal, highlighting the wide range of safety resources available to contractor members. The presentation focused on how contractors can use the portal as a practical, day-to-day tool, whether for training crews, strengthening safety programs, or accessing ready-to-use materials that support safer jobsites and operations.
Caroline Krug presented on the CDL Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) Benefit, sharing how LICA members can take a more hands-on approach to CDL training. She outlined how contractors can handle training in-house, work with the crews and equipment they already have, and avoid the added time and expense of outsourcing. The session focused on making CDL training more manageable while helping contractors build and retain a stronger workforce.
Both sessions were well attended, with full rooms of engaged contractors and time built in at the end for questions and discussion.Caroline and Allison were also able to spend time connecting with contractor members and associate members, trading insights, answering questions, and continuing conversations beyond the presentations.
