This week the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) administered oaths of office to its new Officers and Executive Board members.
Kim LaFleur of Plympton, MA, was sworn in as president of the association. LaFleur has served in several leadership roles at NACD since 2007, including as a board member, executive board member, and most recently as an officer as NACD’s First Vice President and President-Elect. She also serves as the Board Chair of the Plymouth County Conservation District. LaFleur is the State Advisor and Program Director for the Massachusetts FFA Association, which is part of the nation’s largest agricultural youth leadership development organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. LaFleur lives on her family’s cranberry farm along with her husband, Jeff, and sons, Cameron and Logan.
Gary Blair of Mississippi was elected as First Vice President, and Bill Simshauser of Kansas, was elected as Second Vice President. Mark Masters of Georgia, a graduate of the National Conservation Foundation’s Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI) 2020 cohort, was elected to serve as the association’s Secretary-Treasurer. Immediate Past President Michael Crowder of Washington, and NACD Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Peters round out the national association’s officer team.
NACD also swore in new members of the NACD Executive Board:
Ryan Britt from Missouri, North Central Region Representative; Karl Jensen from South Dakota, Northern Plains Region Representative; John McAlpine from Arkansas, South Central Region Representative; Cliff Lane from Pennsylvania, Northeast Region Representative; Josh Smith from New Mexico, Southwest Region Representative; and Michael Aguon from Guam, Pacific Region Representative.
These district officials join Southeast Region Representative Franklin Williams of North Carolina in rounding out regional representation on NACD’s Executive Board.
