Equipment in action, conversations in the field, and industry connections
BRON welcomed contractors, industry partners, and LICA to Sheffield, Iowa, for its 585 Power Unit Showcase, bringing the drainage industry together for a day centered around equipment, installation, and time in the field.
National LICA CEO Dennis Mikula and Executive Vice President Allison Hack traveled from the National Office in Lisle, Illinois, to take part in the event and spend time with BRON representatives and contractors. Since stepping into the CEO role on January 1, Dennis has been making it a priority to experience more of the work happening across LICA's different contractor markets. The BRON showcase gave him another opportunity to see drainage installation firsthand and learn more about the equipment contractors rely on in the field.
The evening before the showcase was less about introductions and more about conversation. Sales representatives Matt Carter and David Lee invited Dennis and Allison to dinner with other members of the BRON team. This gave them a chance to spend time with Vice President David Princz and hear more about BRON's new website, a project the company is especially proud of, and one LICA found both dynamic and impactful.
Mother Nature added an unexpected element to the Field Day when heavy storms and downpours moved through the area just as the event was getting underway. BRON was prepared with tents on-site, where exhibitors, contractors, Dennis and Allison, Iowa LICA Executive Director Kelby Kiefer, and several Iowa LICA members gathered to wait out the storm. The delay gave everyone more time to talk shop and connect before the weather cleared and the demonstrations could begin.
Once the rain eased, the focus moved back to the field. Contractors continued arriving, BRON's equipment went to work, and attendees watched the 585 Power Unit and plows in action installing drainage pipes. The live demonstration gave contractors an up-close look at the equipment in the kind of real-world setting these field days are built around.
Dennis also met with BRON President Robert Hall during the event to talk about the relationship between BRON and LICA and ways the two organizations can continue supporting contractors and the industry.
