GOAL II

Promote and develop contractor certifications through educational programs.

 

Action 1 Maintain national certification committee

Action2 Create a standard certification form

Action 3 Inform LICA members about existing NRCS letter of competency

Action 4 Inform LICA members about the Technical Service Provider program

 

GOAL III

Provide educational opportunities that help contractors diversify and learn new construction techniques. Develop leadership to market and promote LICA to contractors and the public.

 

Action 1 Provide seminars, field days and demonstrations that focus on practical applications.

Action 2 Utilize resource speakers/demonstrators from:

            Universities/research/extension

            Associate business members

            Contractors using the techniques

            Architects, Engineers and others

Action 3 Assign LICA members to identify opportunities and evaluate tangible results by working with education, new technology, and associate advisory committees.

 

GOAL IV

Develop leadership to market and promote LICA to contractors and the public

 

Action 1 Teach public speaking (type of LICA toastmasters)

Action 2 Leadership training/development

Action 3 Learn and be aware of other contractors needs through surveys/questionnaires

 

GOAL V

Position Land Improvement Contractors of America in the public perception as a professional land and water conservation organization.

 

Action 1 Utilize public relations

 

GOAL VI

Develop better working relationship with local, state, and federal government.

 

Action 1 Host agency meeting for the exchange of information

Action 2 Send promotional material to target groups.

Action 3 Prepare and share with members a brief synopsis of legislation that pertains to LICA

Action 4 Engage in personal visits, letter writing, phone calls and e-mail.

 

GOAL VII

Develop additional membership benefits

 

Action 1 Search for discounts for LICA members

Action 2 Seek additional insurance programs
